GameBuddies.io is a free platform for browser party games you play with friends — trivia, drawing, deduction, bingo, word and music games, all in one room with built-in video chat. No downloads, no sign-ups, no paywalls.
It's an independent project built and run by one person: Sebastian Krol, a developer based in Sankt Augustin, Germany. No studio, no investors — just a long-running obsession with the kind of game night where the whole group is laughing at the same reveal.
Getting friends into the same game is still harder than it should be. Party game packs cost money and someone has to own and install them. Free browser games are usually single games on ad-choked sites. And video chat almost always means running Discord or Zoom next to the game.
GameBuddies removes all of that friction: one person opens gamebuddies.io, creates a room, and shares a 4-letter code. Everyone else joins from their phone, tablet, or laptop browser — no account, no install. Video chat is built into the room, and when one game wraps, the host switches to the next one without anyone leaving.
There are currently 17 games on the platform — drawing games, trivia, social deduction, custom bingo, word races, audio guessing, ranking battles, and a few 3D experiments. They take inspiration from formats you know (the drawing-telephone chain, quiz shows, hidden-role games) but every game is built from scratch as our own take, not a copy.
Beyond the games themselves: built-in WebRTC video chat with avatars and virtual backgrounds, a Big TV mode where the game board goes on a TV and players join by scanning a QR code, Twitch integration so stream chats can vote and play along, and a room system that keeps your group together across games.
Every game on GameBuddies.io is free, with no pay-to-win and no content locked behind a paywall. The project is supported two ways:
Optional Premium — a small membership for players who want cosmetic extras like custom avatars, themes, and card styles. Nothing gameplay-relevant is ever premium-only.
Advertising — the platform may show ads via Google AdSense on menu and results screens (never during gameplay). Premium members see no ads at all.
We don't sell user data. The details are in our privacy policy.
GameBuddies is in active development — the platform is honest about being alpha/beta, and the games evolve constantly based on what real groups do in real rooms. Bugs and ideas come in through the Discord community, the in-app feedback button, and email, and fixes usually ship within days.
If a game isn't fun, it gets reworked or removed. If players keep asking for something, it gets built. That feedback loop is the whole development process.

Yes, please do — that feedback drives development. Join the Discord server, use the feedback button in the app footer, or email gamebuddies.contact@gmail.com.
As little as possible: guest play needs no account, game session data is deleted shortly after games end, and analytics only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. The privacy policy on the legal page has the full details.
